National Day for Truth and Reconciliation September 30, 2022
Each year, September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

The day honours the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. Public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process.
The NBSMLT Board has been working diligently to educate ourselves on issues of social injustice, specifically the history of Canadian Residential Schools and the various calls to action as outlined in the Truth and Reconciliation Report. The report contains specific calls to action regarding the Education and Health Care of Indigenous Peoples. We would encourage all NBSMLT Registrants to complete this Free course on Indigenous Canada to begin the journey of understanding and healing. This completed course will be eligible for 15 PDP Credit hours as it will assist members in gaining a better understanding of issues facing Indigenous Peoples when seeking health care services from regulated medical health professionals.
