NBSMLT President-Elect 2025

The NBSMLT is now accepting nominations for the position of President-Elect for 2025. This is an excellent opportunity to become involved with your professional Society and learn more about Board Governance and professional regulation. This position is a three-year term, progressing from President-elect, President, and Past-President.

Board Executive duties include:

• Prioritizing the interests of public protection over the interests of professional advocacy

• Public protection through the regulation of the MLT profession

• Setting and enforcing Standards of Practice

• Performing disciplinary measures as needed

• Participation in setting continuing education requirements

• Strategic Planning

• Participation in Policy Development

• Financial Oversight (including approving and authorizing all payments)

• Compliance and Legal Oversight

• Executive Leadership Oversight (acting as chair for all meetings including AGM)

• Board Development and Education

• Emergency Preparedness and Continuity Planning

• Ethical and Legal Integrity


The role of the Board is to regulate the profession, and oversee the NBSMLT’s activities such as in management, actions, and policy development. Professional administration staff, with the support of the board, conduct the regulatory and administrative work of the NBSMLT. The Board meets monthly on the second Tuesday evening of each month, and is also required to attend additional evening or weekend training and planning sessions 3-4 times annually. May also be required to attend emergency meetings. Must keep up to date with communications from administrative staff with requests, decisions or inquiries.

Please note all nominations must be accompanied by a signature of support from a fellow MLT who is not a current member of the Board of Directors.
